The major contact area will be nutrition and physical activity. (1) The contractor will develop a survey instrument to assess Indian, Tribal and Urban (I/T/U) needs in nutrition and physical activity training. The contractor will also assess the available physical activity certification courses currently available to I/T/U personnel. The assessment should include such aspects as cost, length, location, degree of difficulty and acceptability to paraprofessionals. The contractor will use the nutrition curriculum developed at Northwest Indian College as a basis for the nutrition education componets; (2) Survey report and recommendations for curriculum. Contractor will have 2 months to complete #1; (3) Continued curriculum development. 160 hrs. to complete; (4) Identify strategies for curriculum delivery. The contractor will develop 2 or 3 strategies for curriculum delivery, flexible for presentation in academic or community program. 2 weeks to complete; (5) Curriculum design and objective development. The contractor will use the survey results, current scientific knowledge and expert opinion to design the curriculum framework. Curriculum framework and objectives in modular format. 10 each; (6) Curriculum development. The contractor will develop the content for each module suggested in curriculum framework. The content will incorporate traditional methods of learning in American Indian communities and opportunities for direct application of the content; and (7) Material and travel costs to support development and local site visits. 1 job.
