This purchase is in support of the GSFC Commercialization Program; specifically, to provide an appropriate means of demonstrating the operation, uses and capabilities of "Capaciflector"-based technology to the many industry visitors who express an interest in licensing it and/or forming cooperative R&D arrangements with NASA. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The DPAS Rating for this procurment is DOC9. The anticipated release date of RFQ is on or about August 3, 1999 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about August 18, 1999. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet.
