The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) requires contract services to provide medical consultation and examination assistance to evaluate the health effects reported by FSIS employees and to conduct examinations or tests of FSIS employees as necessary. FSIS will provide the identiy of the chemicals and biologicals to which the employess may have been exposed and a description of the conditions under which the exposure may have occurred. The contractor shall demonstrate proficiency in the evaluation of occupational exposures to chemical and biological agents from either inhalation or dermal routes with emphasis on both the development of chemical sensitization and irritation of the respiratory system, eyes, throat, and skin. FSIS is seeking assistance in determining if employee complaints are based on occupational hazards or public health conditions. FSIS intends to award an Indefinite Quanity contract. The period of performance for this contract will be from date of award thru September 30, 2000, with four one-year option periods. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered. When copies are obtained from the website, it will be the responsibility of the interested party to notify the Contracting Office in order to obtain amendments if and when they are issued.
