R -- ARMED GUARD SERVICES SOL RFQ-New Haven POC Theresa M. Powell, Contracting Officer, (202) 324-3318 The Federal Bureau of Investigation, New Haven, Connecticut Division has a need for a firm-fixed price contract for Armed Security Guard Services. The solicitation is in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 12 Commercial Items. The contractor shall provide physical security for the FBI New Haven construction site at 600 State Street, seven days a week, for the period of 6:00 PM through 6:00 AM, including holidays. The minimum staffing requirement shall be at least two guards. The contract term shall be from date of award for a 12 month period. All offerors shall be licensed for operation in the State of Connecticut. Required specifications for the security services shall include, but are not limited to, prevention patrols of job site to prevent graffiti, vandalism, theft and unauthorized access. Guards shall be armed for self protection and protection of Government property. The employment requirements include, but are not limited to, proper current licenses, certifications, physical and mental attributes necessary for the safe use of firearms. Armed guards shall be proficient in the use of firearms, speak fluent English, and be a United States citizen. Guards will not have arrest or apprehension authority other than that conveyed to an individual; an off duty state police officer; and/or an off duty local police officer under Connecticut state law.
