The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business concerns.
The Military Sealift Command requires services in support of Naval Air
Station, Pensacola, Florida training and operational programs.
Services contemplated include operation and maintenance of various
service craft (including an air-capable helicopter landing trainer;
parasail launch platforms; Monark tow boats; Navy utility boats; yard
patrol craft; or potentially, contractor-provided craft). These craft
serve as training platforms for helicopter landing trainer operations,
parasail/water survival training, and seamanship and navigation
training. Services will also include Oil Spill Fleet Response and
pierside port services. Any contract awarded will be set-aside for
small business, with a maximum five-year period (firm period with
options). The Government anticipates holding a preproposal conference
at Pensacola, Florida to familiarize potential offerors with current
operations. Anticipated solicitation release date is 24 Aug 99 with a
closing date of 8 Oct 99. Anticipated award date is 20 Oct 99, with a
transition period for training and turnover and full performance in
