includes the construction of new concrete and bituminous pavements for
the runway, the runway overrun and tunraround areas (Approximately
6000 CY of concrete) at the 107th ARW NY Air National Guard Base
located at Niagara Falls International Airport, Niagara Falls, NY. Work
includes storm sewers, underdrains, geotextile, joint sealing, pavement
markings, runway lighting modifications, threshold relocation, all
appurtenances and performing final restoration work in accordance with
plans and specifications supplied by the Government. NOTE: The base
bid includes certain items required to make the project usable and
functional. However, if an ABI is awarded, certain items will not be
required as the additional work is part of the ABI. Therefore, credits
will be applied in the respective ABI's. The requirements for the Base
Bid, ABI #1 and ABI#2 are detailed in the drawings and specifications
prepared by the A/E. Alternative Bid Item's include the following:
ABI#1: Work includes the construction of a new 50 foot wide bituminous
shoulder (approximately 480 tons). Work includes underdrains,
geotextile subgrade fabric, and sub base as indicated on the site plan.
This ABI will eliminate topsoil, seeding and mulching of this area
which is included in the Base Bid. ABI#2: Work includes the
installation of 14.5 inch thick PCC pavement in the turnaround area in
lieu of Resin Modified Pavement. Work includes joint sealing and
additional thickness of the sub base course. This ABI eliminates RMP
surfacing, bituminous surface and base courses, and crushed aggregate
base course in this area, which is included in the Base Bid. The
Construction Period is 270 days after acknowledgement of Notice To
Proceed. The Construction Schedule and all elements of the project will
be closely coordinated with the Base Civil Engineer. The magnitude of
the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The projected issue
date of the Solicitation (DAHA30-99-B-0006) is on or around 29 July,
1999. The Bid Opening Datewill be on or around 31 August, 1999. Site
visits will be conducted on 16 and 18 Aug 99 at 10:00 A.M. local time.

attending. The solicitation is unrestricted, all responsible firms may
submit a bid which will be considered. The Standard Industrial Code
(SIC) applicable to this soliciatation is 1611. Firms interested in
obtaining solicitation packets should do so in writing to: USPFO-NY,

requests for solicitation packets must be accompanied by a
non-refundable money order, certified check or bank draft made payable
to the U.S. Treasury in the amount of $100.00. Uncertified company
checks will not be accepted. Interested firms should indicate on their
request whether they will bid as a prime contractor, subcontractor or
supplier, and should annotate their respective business size (i.e.,
small, women owned, disadvataged or large). Funding is not currently
available for this acquisition. Contract award will not be made until
appropriated funding is made available for which payment for contract
