The Umatilla National Forest is soliciting bids for Model 33U (utility body style: Model 33U includes the apparatus body to be constructed of 5052 1/8 inch thickness marine grade aluminum, and the Model 33U tank with pump, priming system, etc.) 300 gallon capacity fire engines to be assembled on Forest Service furnished truck cab and chassis. Government furnished trucks will be new Ford, Model F Series 4X2 or 4X4 drive, 15,000 GVWR, 60 inch CA, 250hp Power Stroke turbo diesel or comparable gasoline engine. Contractor is to furnish, fabricate, assemble, install, and paint the fire packages. Anticipated orders for the Model 33U Engines will come from Eastern and Western Oregon, and Eastern and Western Washington Forests. The engine(s) will be used primiarily to suppress Forest and wildland fires and to control slash and slash burning. The engine(s) will be subjected to abnormal stresses, vibration, twists, and other operational hazards due to travel on unimproved mountainous roads and/or off road. Quality workmanship is required to assure a minimum life of 12 years. This will be an Indefinite-Delivery (Requirements-also known as Delivery Order Contract), multi-year contract, not to exceed $500,000.00.
