POC Marsha Gorham, Purchasing Agent & Todd Cole, Contracting Officer
The Laboratory of Population Genetic (LPG), National Cancer Institute
(NCI) plans to procure a DNA Mass Array Analytical System from Sequenom
Inc, 11555 Sorrento Valley Road, San Diego, California 92121. The
system shall provide a high-speed array mass spectrometer for
separation, detection, and characterization of the analyte molecules
from a miniaturized array; a dispenser for nanoliter sample transfer;
a workstation for data management and interpretation; and magnetic
lifters. Specifically, the system shall include and provide for the
following: 1) High throughput analysis (at least 1000 samples per
hour); 2) precise x/y-positioning; 3) low maintenance components that
provide spectra acquisition rate of 10hz; maximum sensitivity and
accuracy; 4) 125 cm linear time-of-flight (TOF) analyzer with gated
detector; 5) 2 GHz or greater digitizer for fast, high-accuracy data
acquisition; 6) post processing software that enables parallel real
time data analysis; and 7) logic feedback control system for automated
tuning of acquisitions parameters. Sequenom is the only source known
to the NCI researcher that can provide a high speed array mass
spectrometer system for separation, detection, and characterization of
the analyte molecules using a miniaturized array and a dispenser for
nanoliter transfers, and including the other features as noted in the
above requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes.
However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above
requirements, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The capability
statement and any other information must be in writing and must contain
material in sufficient detail to allow NCI to determine if the party
can fully meet the requirement described above. Capability statements
must be received in the contracting office by 3:00 p.m. EST, on July
29, 1999. If you have any questions, please contact Marsha Gorham,
Purchasing Agent on (301) 402-4509. A determination by the Government
not to compete this proposed requirement is based upon responses to
this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government.
Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of
determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No collect
calls will be accepted. Posted 07/13/99 (W-SN353295). (0194) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0355 19990715\66-0002.SOL)
