Labriola 99 -- Miscellaneous: Development and production of an historical, interactive CD-ROM. Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps intends to issue a purchase order to the U.S. Naval Institute(USNI) of Annapolis, MD. for the creation, development and production of an interactive CD-ROM containing the official U.S. Marine Corps(USMC) and U.S. Navy(USN) history of the Korean War, and a USNI history of the Korean War, for use and dissemination by the Marine Corps, Navy and DoD as part of the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Korean War. Approximately sixty-two thousand (62,000) copies of the CD-ROM will be produced with an option for an additional ten thousand(10,000) each over four(4) option years. USNI is the principal professional association for all the Sea Service (USMC, USN, and U.S. Coast Guard) participating in the Korean war commemorative project. USNI has demonstrated expertise in the full spectrum of naval history; in the management of complex naval historical projects and knowledge of U.S. Naval andMarine Corps combat operations during the Korean War. Additionally, USNI retains copyright control over the publication, "THE SEA WAR IN KOREA", by M.W. Cagle, which will be an essential component of the CD-ROM. As such, USNI is the only known source with the experience, expertise and historical documents required to perform this effort. No solicitation document exists.
