POC Veronica Brimmer, Contract Specialist, telephone 301-342-1828 X148, Veronica Singmore, Contracting Officer, telephone 301-342-1828 X166 This is a Notice of Intent from the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River, Maryland to contract on an other than full and open competition basis with Lockheed Martin Undersea Systems, 9500 Godwin Drive, Manassas, VA 20110-4157 for software engineering services to design, develop, code, integrate and test software that incorporates the Improved Extended Echo Ranging (IEER)functionality into the baseline AN/USQ-78A(V) software for the P-3 aircraft. The proposed contract will provide for implementation of corrections and enhancements in support of the Systems Controller Airborne Operational Program, Display Formatter Operational Program, Diagnostic Program and related Device Drivers. It is anticipated that a total of approximately 45,000 man-hours of effort will be required over a period of five years (inclusive of options). This contract will be negotiated on a sole source basis with LMUSS who is the only source qualified to provide the required services as only they possessthe necessary in-progress engineering databases and first-hand knowledge of the AN/USQ-78A(V) software and documentation.
