United States Department of Agriculture/Office of Chief Financial Officer/ National Finance Center intends to issue a contract to Pitney Bowes on a sole source basis for of maintenance and support service for the Mail Center located at the National Finance Center in New Orleans, Lousianna. The previous Contract 53-3142-3-1038 which provided for equipment and services was awarded to Pitney Bowes in a competitive process. The current requirement for services calls for equipment and software maintenance for the following equipment: four (4) series 9's insertion units and one (1) Series 8 insertion unit; one (1) CMMS/OMS Server & Workstation; one (Direct Connection Server & Workstation; and five (5) Paragon Mail Processing Systems; five (5)E101 postal meters; eleven (11) 6501 postal meters; four (4) 1250 letter openers; and four (4) 1190 letter openers. The requirement also provide for services of a contractor service representative, and support services for the mail handling of the Thrift Savings Plan Statement mailing which occurs twice a year. The procurement will be conducted under FAR Part 12- Acquisition of Commerical Items. The solicitation plans to be issued on or about July 30, 1999.
