Sealed bids from all eligible business concerns will be accepted for the Blue Ridge Parkway Project PRA-BLRI 2Q12, PRA-BLRI 2R16, in Buncombe County, North Carolina. The project consists of resurfacing the Blue Ridge Parkway from Milepost 375.1 to 383.3 and resurfacing side roads from Milepost 383.5 to 393.3. The project work includes removal of asphalt pavement, cold recycling asphalt pavement as base course, placement of aggregate base and hot asphalt concrete pavement, installation of steel-backed timber guardrail, shoulder reconditioning, and other miscellaneous work. Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows: Removal of asphalt pavement: 33,400 m2; Aggregate base, grading C or D, 200 mm depth:28,200 m2; Hot Asphalt Concrete Pavement, Class C, various gradings: 14,900 metric tons; Cold recycled asphalt base course, grading C, 50 mm depth: 64,500 m2; Guardrail system, steel backed timber, type B: 5,610 m; The project is expected to fall within the price range of $2,000,000 and $5,000,000.
