equipment, transportation and supervision required for rehabilitation
of waterfront at USCG Station Cape Charles, VA. Major basic work items
include: Remove and dispose of fender system consisting of timber
piles, timber wales and timber chocks; Remove and dispose of timber
curbing, cleats and steel channel cap and remove top portion of the
existing steel sheet pile bulkhead; Remove and dispose of asphalt
pavement adjacent to the existing steel sheet pile bulkhead and remove
and dispose of miscellaneous items such as steel water hose
stanchions, steel ladder, concrete pads and concrete light pole
foundation; Install reinforced cast-in-place concrete facing and cap on
existing steel sheet pile bulkhead and install new cleats and new
rubber fender system; Install new potable water service stations to
replace those removed; Install new concrete footing for new light pole;
Install new fill and asphalt pavement to replace asphalt pavement and
fill removed and install new precastconcrete wheel stops; Fill, grade,
seed and mulch the grass areas disturbed during construction; Remove
and dispose of existing light pole, convenience receptacles and
associated conduit, existing telephone cable mounted along existing
bulkhead; Remove and reinstall existing electrical shore tie and
mounting stanchion; Install new light pole, convenience receptacles and
associated conduit and conductor; and, Install new telephone conduit
with pull wire and telephone mounting stanchion. Unit work items
include: Remove and dispose of miscellaneous concrete placed as shore
protection and adjacent concrete swale and install new steel sheet pile
bulkhead with reinforced cast-in-place concrete facing and cap;
Mechanical dredge the enlarged boat basin area and dispose of material
in designated disposal area and perform pre and post dredge soundings
and compute dredge quantity. Place geotextile fabric and rip rap in
front of new steel sheet pile bulkhead; Install new concrete floating
dock system; Install new timberpile braced, timber wave barrier;
Install new 5 ton, 22 foot span, 360 degree rotatable electrical jib
crane; and, Provide additional dredging from required dredging in
previous unit item and dispose of dredged material. This procurement is
estimated between $500K and $1M and is open to large and small
businesses in accordance with the Small Business Competitive
Demonstration Program. The applicable SIC Code is 1629. Bid opening is
on/about 9/2/99. Completion time is 200 DANTP. The bid opening date is

until the supply is exhausted. A non-refundable deposit of $25.00 is
required in the form of a company check, cashier's check, certified
