This project replaces the existing pile collar/hoop fabrications attaching the timber frame floats at the St. Johns Harbor Log Transfer Facility (LTF) and Roosevelt Harbor Float with new pile collars; installation of a new walking surface/deck on both floats; waterproof seals on the concrete float top surfaces of both floats; removal of the existing timber planking on the float access gangways at both floats; installation of a fiberglass grate walking surface in place of the timber planking; installation of a new timber pile, installation of a rubber tire fender system with steel cap beam on the existing concrete panel-faced bulkhead at the St. Johns Harbor LTF. The work sites are located at the Roosevelt Harbor Float and St. Johns Harbor LTF on the Wrangell Ranger District, Tongass National Forest. The St. Johns Harbor LTF is located along the northwestern shore of St. Johns Harbor on the northwestern side of Zarembo Island approximately 37 kilometers (23 air miles) west of Wrangell, Alaska. The Roosevelt Harbor Float is located at the head of Roosevelt Harbor, on the northeastern side of Zarembo Island approximately 19 kilometers (12 air miles) west of Wrangell, Alaska. Both sites are accessible by float plane or boat from Wrangell or Petersburg, Alaska. Contract time is 270 calendar days. The estimated price range is $100,000 -- $250,000.
