Saint Louis, Contracting Officer; 304/636-1800, ext. 265 The Monongahela National Forest anticipates contracting for an Equipment Rental with Operator to complete dredging work at the Smoke Hole Recreation Area on the Cheat/Potomac Ranger District in Pendleton County, West Virginia. The work includes dredging and disposal of 4,300 CY of accumulated river jack currently deposited in the South Branch of the Potomac River. The river jack material is located above the existing low water bridge structure approximately 300 feet and between 300 and 900 feet below the same bridge structure. The material above the bridge, less than 2,000 CY, will be transported 4.3 miles on State Secondary Road No. 2 and Forest Road No. 809 and disposed of at Jesse Judy Campground. The following equipment will be utilized: Excavator, JD790 or equal; 2 Triaxle Dump Trucks; Dozer, D5 or equal. The contract time is estimated at approximately 30 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. Work will begin in September 1999. This project is a Total Small Business Set-Aside.
