This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. NASA/GRC intends to purchase a one-axis positioning system from Cygnus, Inc. under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). It is required that the system be fully compatible and operational with an existing Government-owned two-axis positioning system. The system shall consist of a single-axis positioning table, motors, controllers and the necessary accessories required to operate via an Intel-based PC through an RS485 serial port connection. The linear bearings shall be Thompson Accumax CM55AADP or equal, and the motors and controllers shall be Kollmorgen BDS5 series or equal. Delivery is required by 9/10/99. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 3441 and 500 employees, respectively.
