The Navy intends to solicit and negotiate a contract on a sole-source basis to acquire 37 each 5VDC Power Supplies, Westinghouse Source Control Drawing No. 3289867, to support the Trident Missile System D5 Backfit program. The intended sole-source contractor is Rantec Microwave & Electronics, Inc., 24003 Ventura Boulevard, Calabasas, CA 91302. It is anticipated that a firm-fixed-price, supply type contract will result. This procurement will be conducted on a sole-source basis in accordance with the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. The basis for restricting competition is the duplicative costs that would accrue to the Government to utilize any other source's product. Final inspection and acceptance will be at destination.
