Schuttler, Contracting Officer. Operation and Maintenance of Eight Fast
Sealift Ships (FSS) for three years firm plus two 1-year option
periods. RFP N00033-99-R-5301 is estimated to be issued o/a 16 August
1999. Due date for receipt of proposals will be 60 days after issuance
of the RFP. Period of performance is estimated to commence o/a April,
2000 with delivery to the contractor of the first ship. Delivery of
all 8 FSS to the contractor is estimated to be accomplished over
approximately 8 weeks. Contractor will be responsible to operate and
maintain the FSS fleet in a readiness (ROS4) status while layberthed on
the US east and Gulf coasts, and operate any or all 8 FSS worldwide, as
required. MSC intends to conduct this negotiated procurement as an
unrestricted best-value competition. RFP documents will be mailed to
requesting firms and to those currently on our mailing list; RFP
documents will also be posted to the MSC contracts website under
contracts, active proposals, ship operations, at www.msc.navy.mil.
