70 -- TAPE DUBBING UNITS SOL N00015990033 DUE 072699 POC Roxanne Tayman, 301-669-4041 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 of the FAR, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document and incorporated clauses are those in effect through Federal Acqusition Circular 90-37. The Office of Naval Intelligence has a requirement to procure two types of tape dubbing capability: regular 8mm tape and AIT-1 8mm tape. The regular 8mm dubbing unit must be capable of the following: six tape drives (one master and 5 copies), 1 to 12 MBS transfer rate, advanced features (mirroring, striping, cascade and independent and off-line copy/verify modes), standalone (does not require a host computer but has the option to connect to one), a status LED for each drive, documentation, 2-3 year warranty period and external enclosure (with power supply) that can be rack-mounted. The AIT-1 dubbing unit must be capable of the following: six tape drives (one master and 5 copies), advanced features (mirroring, striping, cascade and independent and off-line copy/verify modes), standalone (does not require a host computer but has the option to connect to one), a status LED for each drive, documentation, 2-3 year warranty period, same day service and external enclosure (with power supply) that can be rack-mounted. The AIT-1 unit must be able to handle both the Sony 25GB MIC tape and the Sony 35GB MIC tape. Both dubbing units must be able to make 1 to 5 simultaneous exact copies from a master tape.
