This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. DTRS57-99-Q-80095 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). This solicitation is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). This is a Very Small Business Set-Aside. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-11. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3651, and the small business size standard is 750 employees. The Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) Office of Environmental Preservation and Systems Modernization has a requirement for the furnishing of and permanent installation of audiovisual equipment. The equipment being requested is for Brand Name or equal. The system hardware requirements are as follows: 1. Video projector and ceiling mount (NEC model XG 135LC Multisync or equivalent), 1 EA; 2. 100 inch diagonal screen, 1 EA; 3. Computer interface modules and cables for PC and MacIntosh 1 EA; 4. Audio re-enforcement system with portable RF microphone 1 EA; 5. Video source playback devices and switching unit for VCR and DVD format i nputs, 1 EA; 6. Audio and video input control system including any needed programming, 1 EA. 7. All necessary engineering and full installation and functional drawings including power, audio, video and switching cabling. Installation of all equipment, in accordance with approved engineering designs, is also required, 1 JOB. A detailed description of the equipment being offered must be submitted with your proposal.
