Phillips, Contracting Officer, (202) 707-0400 The Interpretive Programs Office of the Library of Congress is seeking a vendor to design, supply, and program the software and hardware for all audio-visual/interactive components of the Bob Hope Gallery of American Entertainment, which will open in May 2000. The Bob Hope Gallery of American Entertainment, a long-term (5+ years) exhibition, which will be housed in the Library's Thomas Jefferson Building, will survey the evolution of 20th century forms of American entertainment-vaudeville, radio, motion pictures,and television-with a specific focus on the American variety tradition and Bob Hope's career which emcompasses fully this history. In addition, a special section on Bob Hope's USO shows, which started during World War II and continued through to the war in the Persian Gulf, will explore the making of these shows and the effect they had on the morale of America's servicemen. The Gallery will include items from the Library's newly acquired Bob Hope Collection,items from various divisions throughout the Library, and objects borrowed from the Bob Hope Archives and other sources.
