Department of Education, Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE) intends to issue a sole source requirement under Task 7 -- National Meeting on Alcohol, Other Drug and Violence Prevention in Higher Education. This National Meeting under Safe and Drug Free School's program is the largest outreach public event to institutions of higher education that will be held in Albany, New York. This procurement was awarded on March 1, 1999 and is scheduled to expire on February 29, 2000. The proposed Task 7 action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Education Development Center, Inc. under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Nevertheless, all proposals received within thirty days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
