The work of this project consists of performing extensive concrete repairs at four separate locations of both the Bourne and Sagamore Highway Bridges over the Cape Cod Canal in Bourne, MA. Specific repair work includes 270,000 SF of concrete sounding; 225,000 SF of concrete cleaning; 68,000 SF of cementitious coating; 15,000 SF of varied concrete repairs; and 4,000 SF of spall repair. These repairs involve the bridge abutment interiors, eight bridge piers, the bearing seats/abutment north and south faces, and the east and west faces of the abutment exteriors. All work is located such that traffic control on the bridges will not be required. However, access to the repair areas will require significant staging, scaffolding, manlifts, or some combination thereof. The estimated cost of the work is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Work shall be completed within 210 calendar days after receipt of a notice to proceed. Solicitation documents shall be available on or about 8/16/99 at a charge of $25.00 per set.
