Amendment 0002 is issued to the above combined synopsis/solicitation for the procurement of a Gas Analyzer for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This amendment is issued in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. A written amendment will not be issued. This amendment is issued to answer questions posed by potential offerors. The questions and respective answers are as follows: Q1) Can a sample rate of 2L/M be provided instead of the .5L/M specified? A1) No; Q2) Is the .5L/M for all three analyzers or for each one, for a total of 1.5L/M? A2) Each analyzer should have a sample gas flow rate of 0.5 L/min; Q3) Is the sample pressure above 15 PSIG? A3) No; Q4) Will any sample conditioning equipment, i.e. filters or pumps be needed? Or, can we assume a clean sample at pressure will be provided to the analyzers? A4) A clean gas sample at the appropriate pressure and flow rate will be provided to each analyzer; Q5) Will a system with a PC included be acceptable, so that the digital I/O for calibration can be eliminated and instead use PC to PC communication over Ethernet or other network? A5) No. This is not feasible under certain circumstances. The due date for the receipt of quotes remains unchanged at July 23, 1999, 3:00 PM local time. Faxed offers will not be accepted.
