X -- GAS MANAGEMENT TECHNICIAN SOL W71B7J-9162-7004 DUE 072699 POC Bobbie McKoy, Purchasing Agent, 301/394-1202, Contracting Officer, Beth Smith 301/394-3371 An experienced Gas Management Technician that shall provide Total Gas Management Services including cylinder inventory, routine cylinder changes (hazardous process gases and inerts), gas delivery equipment preventive maintenance, installation of new gas equipment and tool hook-up. The site Gas Technician shall maintain/manage an ultra high purity hazardous gas distribution system consisting of approximately 50 toxic/flammable/explosive gas cabinets, gas manifolds, termination boxes, tools and an MDA 16/Zellweger toxic/flammable gas monitoring system. The hazardous gases include: oxygen, nitrous oxide, fluorine, hydrogen, silane, methane, ammonia, chlorine, boron trichloride, hydrogen bromide, dibornane, dichlorosilane, and possibly arsine and phosphine. All services shall be performed at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL), Physical Sciences Laboratory (PSL), 2800 Powder Mill Road, Adelphi, Maryland 20783. The contractor shall provide one experienced Gas Management Technician with a DOD Secret Clearance on-site eight hours per day, five days per week, fifty two weeks per year, excluding federal holidays. Overtime will be necessary at ARL's request. Interested firms must submit a capability statement and a response to the following questions via fax (301)394-1162 by 4:00 p.m./est, July 26, 1999. 1) How long has your company performed this type of service? 2) Does your company have engineering and research personnel familiar with design, installation and management of an ultra high purity hazardous gas distribution system? 3) Can your company provide at lease three references where you have performed this type of work, either government or private industry? 4) How much liability insurance does your company carry? 5) Do you currently employ a site gas technician that has experience managing an ultra high purity hazardous gas distribution system? 6) Does this employee have at least two years first hand experience in maintaining/managing the gases, gas distribution system and gas monitoring equipment? 7) How much experience does the technician have with the MDA/Zellweger toxic/flammable gas monitoring system?
