includes: 1) Construction of approximately 12-foot by 30-foot in area
concrete and steel portal structure, earthwork, and related incidental
construction for safe closure of an inclined entry, which will enable
Park visitors to safely view the underground workings: 2) Construction
of a concrete and steel collar and ventilation hood for a nominal
4-foot diameter vertical shaft; and 3) Backfilling approximately 125
lineal feet of a near-horizontal tunnel. Estimated price range is
$125,000 to $200,000. Attendance at the August 19, 1999, pre-bid
meeting is mandatory. The pre-bid meeting will be held at the Black
Diamond Regional Preserve Park Office at the end of Somersville Road,
Antioch, California. Hard hats, flashlights & sturdy hiking shoes are
required. All requests for the bid package must be in writting. Verbal
