89193-8521 60 -- PROVIDE CAPABILITY TO REMOTE ALL OF THE USER INTERFACES ON
INMARSAT B SATELLITE TERMINAL VIA FIBER OPTIC CABLE SOL CC-0720-99 DUE
072599 POC Cathy Carey, 702 295-0205 E-MAIL: Cathy Carey,
careyca@nv.doe.gov. 1. The requirement for this product is to provide
the capability to remote all of the user interfaces on the INMARSAT B
Satellite terminal via fiber optic cable. The make and model is the
California Microwave INMARSAT B LYNXX, fixed and transportable systems.
The user interface ports RJ-45 Master Handset, RJ-11 Standard Phone
Port, RJ11 Fax Port, RS449 (DB37 Pin) and RS232 (DB25 Pin). These
interfaces must perform to the specification set forth and approved by
California Microwave and AOS Inc (an approved vendor for the INMARSAT
B). The solution should provide full capability to remotely control
all functions as they appear at the terminal. The requirement is to be
able to extend all interfaces and function up to 1000 feet on a single
pair fiber optic cable (multi mode on 62.5-micron fiber). 62.5 is the
preferred cable as it is in the existing cable plant. 50 micron is
acceptable as a secondary solution but would incur additional expense
in cable plant upgrade. In addition unit size is critical and
theoverall footprint should be as small and lightweight as possible to
meet requirements set forth for Emergency Response Systems by the
Department of Energy. 2. For more detailed information, contact Cathy
