A -- VLA PROPELLANT AND MOTOR COMPONENT INSULATION SOL N00174-99-Q-0317 DUE 081399 POC PAT GRIFFIN, CODE 1143K, Fax 301-744-6618 The Navy is qualifying the process of using refurbished hardware as Code A assets in the fleet. The contractor will provide the following: One hundred 1/2 gallon cartons of VLA propellant manufactured in accordance with WS 22945. The samples will be delivered to the Navy. Design and manufacture three each sets of tooling for refurbishing the TCO pistons (P/N 5925770-1, 5925770-2), the seperation piston (P/N 5925871), and the separation piston housing (P/N 5925873). The tooling design will be provided to the Navy. Develop manufacturing process to refurbish and re-insulate the components using designed tooling. Insulate and inspect a first article sample of each of the four components using the above process on Government furnish components. The Navy will review the inspection data for acceptability.
