N68711-98-B-1167, SEISMIC REPAIRS TO BUILDING 1533 (TP-9939M) The work
includes construction of seismic strengthening and renovations,
including all incidental related work, for the following facility: a.
Building 1533 Exchange: This project provides seismic upgrades and
repairs to an existing Naval Exchange Complex. The Exchange includes
Building A, a 33,600 GSF Warehouse; Building B, a 19,000 GSF
Office/Retail; Building C, a 32,350 GSF Main Exchange; Building D, a
14,250 GSF 7-Day Store; Building E, a 3,000 GSF Retail Food Service and
Building F, a 4,200 GSF, Discount Store. Demolition in the interior of
these buildings (A through F), include selective removal of light
fixtures, partition walls, ceiling systems, flooring and base. Saw
cutting of the concrete slab to facilitate structural foundations
seismic upgrades will be necessary. Repair to the interior will consist
of patching finishes to match existing and the construction of a
limited quantity of interior partition walls to replace those
demolished to facilitate shear wall construction and for reinforcement.
Exterior renovations include additions of new welds at the steel roof
deck; new steel beams and angles, demolition of existing roofing,
insulation, nailers and flashing; and excavation to expose foundation
along north side of Building A for addition of new steel angle.
Renovation and repair of exterior will consist of a new roof (roof
insulation, nailers, flashing, roofing and aggregate surfacing) and
painting of affected surfaces. Interior renovations include painting,
flooring, base, acoustical ceiling systems of affected areas, and
incidental related work. A Quality Control Program will be required as
set forth in the Contract Specifications. NOTE: All Federal
Contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration
(CCR) database, new contract awards can only be made to contractors who

Site Visit 10:00 AM, local time, 24 August 1999. Only one site visit
will be offered. Bid Opening 3:00 PM, local time, 09 September 1999.
Duration of contract 270 calendar days. Estimated Cost Range between
$1,000,000 and $5,000,000. NOTE: Large business concerns are required
to submit a subcontracting plan. This is a Firm Fixed Price contract.
This procurement is being issued pursuant to the Small Business
Competitiveness Demonstration Program. NOTE: Bids submitted in response
to this advertisement will be evaluated in compliance with FAR Clause
52.219-4, Notice of Price Evaluation Preference for HUBZone Small
Business Concerns (Jan 1999), which is applicable to this solicitation.
Sic Code 1542. The related Small Business Size Standard is $17 Million.
