Z -- UPGRADE HVAC SYSTEM SOL IFB 231-0039 POC Thomas Dufort, Regional Contract Specialist, 570-547-1641, ext. 539 PRESOLICITATION NOTICE: Contractor will be required to revise the ductwork, HVAC control system and electrical connections to the exhaust fans in four housing units (total of eight air handling units) located at the Federal Correctional Institution-McKean in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Work shall include the following: provide filtration; modify existing microprocessor control system; provide smoke detectors; provide smoke dampers; supply/install sensing points, microprocessors, and computer terminal; provide variable frequency drives at exhaust fans; and, reuse existing control panels, damper and valve acuators, and temperature sensors. Contractor shall provide a "turn key" project with warranty, training, and, drawings. The work is projected to begin in October 1999. The Contractor shall complete work within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days after receiving the Notice To Proceed. This solicitation is not set-aside for any socio-economic programs (i.e., small business, labor surplus area, etc...). All responsible sources may submit a bid. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for this project is 1711 (size standard is $ 7.0 million). Background investigations/clearances will be required. The specifications and drawings will be available for inspection at FPC Allenwood Visiting Room upon prior request until the bid closing date and time. Bid packages will be available on or about August 6, 1999, with bid opening taking place on or about September 8, 1999.
