NOTICE OF INTENT: The 20th Contracting Squadron, Shaw AFB, SC intends to award a two-year sole source requirements contract to ESCO, INC to provide the anchor, overhaul, and installation kits referenced above. Estimated quantities are as follows: BAK-12 Fixed Overhaul Kit, P/N 9D00342-101: 10 ea. BAK-12 Fixed Installation Kit, P/N 52C7213-104: 10 ea. Mobile Anchor Kit, P/N 9C00194-101: 2 ea. Mobile Overhaul Kit, 9D00343-101: 3 ea. The applicable SIC Code is 3728, Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment, Not Elsewhere Classified. The government intends to acquire the items using FAR Part 15. The statutory authority is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 (2)(ii), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." This requirement is for genuine replacement parts for repairs to existing runway arresting cable systems on overseas military runways. The individual parts are required to be assembled in kits. Only this configuration ensures availability of parts to cover any contingency. This is not a request for proposals or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Request for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
