The design specifications are: The compressor must operate at two design points measured at the mounting flange: 1) volumetric flow rate given by V(t) equal minus 58*cos(188.5*t)cubic centimeters pressure given by P(t) equal 2.0 plus 0.4*cos(188.5*t plus 0.7)MPa, 2) volumetric flow rate given by V(t) equal minus 58* cos(377*t) cubic centimeters pressure given by P(t) equal 3.0 plus 0.4*cos(377*t plus 0.7)MPa, 3) capable of operating with 3.0 MPa average pressure, 4) A linear position sensor is required, 5) No lubrication, 6) Minimal dead volume in the compression space, 7) Water cooling is acceptable, 8) Flexure or gas bearings are preferred, 9) Two opposed pistons are preferred, 10) Low EMI, 11) 5 year, no maintenance lifetime goal. The first phase is the design review and final systems drawings. Technical merit as well as price will be used to evaluate offers.
