The Cooperative Threat Reduction Office of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has a requirement for a Typhoon Class SSBN Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Launcher and Associated SSBN Elimination. DTRA intends to award a sole source contract to the the Sevmash Production Association to facilitate elimination of SLBM launchers from one (1) Typhoon Class SSBN, proper removal and disposition of spent naval fuel (SNF) from the SSBN reactor cores, fabrication and disposal of the reactor compartment three-compartment units, and the subsequent elimination of the one (1) Typhoon Class SSBN's. Under the terms of the START I Treaty, the Russian Federation has designated the Sevmash Production Association as the elimination site. DTRA believes Sevmash is the only source able to perform this effort. Any other firm desiring consideration must fully identify its capability to perform the requirement.
