488-2627 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to
procure the services of a vendor to produce and characterize a highly
viable preparation of Mycobacterium tuberculosis strain Erdman for use
as an inoculum. MINIMUM VENDOR QUALIFICATIONS: Extensive experience in
the aerosol-challenge murine model of tuberculosis and virulence
testing of M. tuberculosis isolates and in the safe handling of M.
tuberculosis. Ensure all studies involving M. tuberculosis are
conducted in approved Biosafety Level 3 laboratories, as detailed in
"Biosafety in Microbiology and Biomedical Laboratories" HHS Publication
93-8395. Comply with the PHS Policy of Humane Care and Use of
Laboratory Animals and file an Animal Welfare Assurance with the Office
for Protection of Research Risks at the National Institutes of Health.
This requirement is 100% set-aside for small business. All interested
