The prjoect involves the construction of bridge abutments and the installation of a Government-furnished 95 foot modular (bowstring) truss steel trail bridge on the Center Ridge trail, located on the Chugach National Forest near Anchorage, Alaska. The work also includes clearing and grubbing, excavation, embankment placement, and seeding associated with bridge mobilization and construction. There is no associated trail construction in this project. The Government-furnished bridge will be delivered by others to the parking lot located in Turnagain Pass at Milepost 68.1 of the Seward Highway. The bridge installation site is located approximately 750 feet off of the edge of the parking lot. There is no existing road or trail from the parking lot to the bridge site. The estimated start work date is mid September 1999 with contract completion by June 30, 2000 or September 30, 2000. Estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000.
