(MD-33), Attn: ORDSC, Research Triangle Park, NC 27711 B -- CASE STUDIES FOR THE SIMULATION OF HUMAN EXPOSURE TO PARTICULATE
MATTER (PM) IN A ROADWAY MICROENVIRONMENT SOL PR-NC-99-U2F208 DUE

Julio Lopez, Contract Specialist, (919)541-4470 WEB: ERROR --,
jones.starry@epa.mail. The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Fluent
Incorporated, 10 Cavendish Curt, Lebanon, NH 03766-1442, for the
acquisition of a contract to provide specialized set up and support for
developing and evaluating applications of the Fluent Incorporated
Computational Fluid Dynamics Software (CFD) in support of the EPA
program. The EPA has a Silicon Graphics Incorporated (SGI) Onyx2
supercomputing workstation with Fluent Incorporated CFD Software
installed. EPA is using this workstation and software to research and
develop models of human exposure microenvironments. The Fluent
Incorporated CFD software is very specialized numerical simulation and
graphics software. There is a need to fully evaluate and modify the
Fluent software to provide specialized set up for source
characteristics and simulation of human exposure for best performance
in a roadway microenvironment. Only Fluent Incorporated can fully
evaluate specialized set up and modifications to their proprietary
source code. This project will provide demonstration case studies using
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software on supercomputing
workstations for simulating the pathway for human exposure to
Particulate Matter (PM) in a roadway microenvironment. EPA believes
that Fluent Incorporated is the only company cable of satisfying the
requirement stated above. All interested parities who believe they can
provide the required servics should fully explain their capabilities
in writing within 15 days of the date of this announcement. No
Solicitation is available. The intent of this synopsis is to determine
if any sources (s) exist and, therefore, no RFP is available.
Consequently, any response(s) failing to provide the aforementioned
data but instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting
a copy of the RFP will be ignored. Submit response to the U.S. EPA,
