R -- ENGINEERING SERVICES AND SUPPORT FOR THE LIFE-CYCLE MANAGEMENT OF THE UH-1 FLEET SOL DAAH23-99-R-0292 DUE 082399 POC Demetria Chunn, (256) 842-7504 Willis Epps, (256) 876-1997 Engineering Services and support for the life-cycle management of the Utility Helicopter-1 (UH-1) Fleet to be procured sole source from Bell Helicopter Textron Incorporated, 600 E Hurst Boulevard, P O Box 482, Forth Worth, Texas 76101-0482. Bell Helicopter is the original designer and original equipment manufacturer(OEM) for the UH-1. BHTI is the only source for current and complete technical data sufficient to perform the tasks required. Technical data possessed by any other potential contractor is limited to that furnished by the OEM (or the Army) to support limited technical assistance. The Goverment does not own a complete technical data package, resulting in insufficient data to allow reliable engineering support/services by other than BHTI. BHTI is the only contractor with the technical expertise and knowledge to successfully perform this acquisition. This acquisition will be basic with a five year option to provide technical activities that include investigation, analysis, resolution of technical activities and problems of a system-wide nature, and evaluation and testing of proposed revisions to publications.
