The Military Traffic Management Command (MTMC) is seeking sources for approximately 350 twenty-foot chassis to lease for urgent requirement for intermodal equipment worldwide. All twenty-foot chassis available for lease to the Government must be in compliance with the latest edition of the IICL Guide for Container/Chassis Inspection and all supplements and technical bulletins. Additionally, all chassis shall have been inspected pursuant to the regulations of the FHWA and must be road worthy. All twenty-foot chassis available for lease to the Government may be straight frame or slider, made of steel design capable of carrying a twenty-foot container of a maximum gross mass weight of at least 50,000 pounds. Chassis will be leased for periods of 30-90 days. Responses to this Sources Sought are due no later than 30 July 1999. This is NOT an Invitation for Bid (IFB) or a Request for Proposal (RFP). This is an attempt to identify resources with available equipment to meet urgent intermodal requirements. Any source capable of providing twenty-foot chassis for lease to the Government in any quantity is requested to respond. Responses should provide quantities available and depot locations. The response should also identify any previous contract(s), (contract number, dollar amount, Government POCs, program description, etc.) completed by the respondee. All interested firms, regardless of size are encouraged to respond to this announcement. However, companies must indicate business size with their written response to this synopsis.
