The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate on other than a full and open competition basis with Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) for additional enhancements to an existing software application called WorkWORLD. The proposed contract is anticipated to be for a five-year period. The WorkWORLD package was developed exclusively for SSA by VCU as a software support decision tool useful in looking at alternative work incentive features of SSA's disability programs. This proposed acquisition would provide continuing development of WorkWORLD software that includes the Federal, and State level of benefits, technical support for product testing, and training packages for users. WorkWORLD allows users to test alternative policies and demonstrates the complex nature of interaction among various States and Federal benefits. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Respondents should refer to the WorkWORLD Software Enhancement project.
