Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract for Gas Lines within the Family Housing Areas at Fort Hood, Texas. Task orders to perform a thorough gas leak detection survey of 12 housing areas at Fort Hood in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and standards. Survey includes buried natural gas valves and lines; and all valves, risers, meters and regulators from the buried lines to the dwellings. Grade 1 leaks will be repaired immediately. Grade 2 and 3 leaks will be noted and repaired under a future task orders. Two housing areas have steel piping, the rest have FE pipe. All piping will be repaired with PE pipe. Contractor will locate valves on Base Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) coordinate system. Estimated duration for the contract award will be an initial base period of 12 months with one (1) option period of 12 months for a total not-to-exceed of twenty-four (24) months. Option Period will be exercised at the Government's discretion. The anticipated amount for theBase Period and Option period is $250,000.00 with a not-to-exceed $500,000.00 for the life of the contract. The minimum guaranteed amount for the initial 12-month base period is $5,000.00 and for the 12-month Option Period is $2,500.00. The plans and specifications will be placed on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a paper hard copy format. Notification of amendments shall be made through either 3.5" diskette, CD ROM, and/or the Internet. The Government intends to issue this solicitation through the use of CD ROM and the Internet. However, the Government reserves the right to use only the Internet as notification of any changes to this solicitation. It is therefore the contractor's responsibility to check the following address daily for any posted changes to this solicitation.
