Haddon, (301) 757-8965 The Naval Air Systems Command is conducting full and open competition for the Depot Level Maintenance support of 172 JT8D engines for the U.S. Navy and Marine C-9 aircraft, and the U.S. Air Force C-9, T43-A and C-22B aircraft. The anticipated solicitation will be for a seven year contract beginning 1 August 2000. The period of performance will be a two month base period plus six (6) one year options. The resultant contract will be a Fixed Price Requirements type contract with Cost Reimbursement provisions. The RFP was released in draft form in April 1999. Formal solicitation N00019-99-R-1336 inclusive of all attachments should be available mid August. A preproposal conference is planned for approximately 2 to 3 weeks after the release of the final solicitation. The Navy will only release the solicitation/RFP, including any subsequent amendments, over the Internet. TELEPHONE OR WRITTEN REQUESTS FOR SOLICITATIONS/RFPS WILL NOT BE ACCPETED. In addition, the Government is posting questions and answers in response the draft solicitation.
