The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Village Marine Tec. Of Gardena, CA. The contractor will be responsible for providing the Portable Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit (PROWPU), one day of training for each deploying unit, general operations manual, and six months worth of spare kits. Village Marine Tec. is the prime contractor for the Portable Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit (PROWPU). This system has been tested in previous MCWL experiments in fiscal years 1998 and 1999. No other contractors which have experience in supporting the PROWPU produced equipment have been identified by the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory at this time. No RFP is available for competitive bidding; however, interested parties may submit a statement of capability for satisfying this requirement, to include descriptive literature and pricing, within 15 days of this announcement to the contact person listed above. This announcement is not a request for competitiveproposals; however all proposals received by the date identified above will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
