Edwards, Contracting Officer (414) 902-5418 The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Great Lakes Acquisition Center, Milwaukee, WI, is soliciting responsible sources interested in providing autopsy assistant services, on a per autopsy case, at the VA Chicago Healthcare System, Westside, 820 Damen Avenue, Chicago, IL 60612 and the Lakeside Division, 333 East Huron Street, Chicago IL, 60611. The contractor will be responsible for providing autopsy assistance services for the period of one year from date of award, anticipated October 1, 1999. This requirement has two additional one-year performance periods at the option of the Government. These services include assisting the attending pathologist and pathology residents with post-mortem procedures. Under the supervision of the attending pathologist, the autopsy assistant carries out specialized technical procedures, such as, but not limited to, removal of whole organs en bloc, brains and spinal columns. In addition the autopsy assistant fixes and catalogues organs by placing them in proper solutions and labeling and performs other procedures of comparable difficulty. The SIC Code for this procurement is 8099 and is 100% small business set-aside. The Small Business Standard is $5.0 million.
