20535-0001 Y -- FALL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS POC Almeta A. Dixon, Contract Specialist,
(202) 324-0566 The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking
sources interested in providing the design and installation of Fall
Restraint Systems for the FBI, West Virginia (WV) Complex. This is a
MARKET SURVEY for WRITTEN INFORMATION ONLY. This is NOT a solicitation
announcement for proposals. There is no solicitation available at this
time. The FBI is seeking sources who have had previous experience with
designing and installing fall restraint systems. The contractor should
demonstrate its ability to provide a fall restraint system that is
mobile and does not have to be anchored to the roof. The Contractor
should demonstrate its ability to provide a fall restraint system with
the following conditions: The WV Complex is made up of five modules
with three sloping roofs per module. The north side of the building has
a glass atrium with 90 degree sides. The four types of conditions that
need a fall restraint system at the WV Complex are: (1) Sloping
precast concrete surfaces that are seven inches thick, supported by
rebar. Rebar in precast on horizontal is number 4 @ 2 feet. Vertical
rebar is number 5 @ 9 inches. Each module is approximately 145 feet
long; (2) Sloping glass curtain wall approximately 145 feet long; (3)
Glass atrium across the north side is approximately three modules in
length; (4) Ninety degree vertical side which scaffolding may be
erected. Employees need fall protection while building, using and
disassembly of scaffold (mobile unit may be sufficient). The fall
restraint system will need to have the capability to hold up to four
(4) employees and allow them to traverse the slopes without
disconnecting. The mobile unit cannot be anchored into the roof.
Security clearances will be required on all of the contractor's
employees. All interested parties should submit a written capability
