Masar, (509) 376-2887 Fluor Daniel Northwest (FDNW), RFP No.
100331-9-K00015 is scheduled for release on or about August 6, 1999,
with a due date on or about September 3, 1999, and a Notice-to-Proceed
date in early October 1999. The work consists mainly of procuring and
installing insulation material (refractory) to concrete in two
underground vaults of the Canister Storage Building of the Spent
Nuclear Fuels Area. This Work will require special heating of the
concrete in order to meet the insulation material application
requirements. In addition, the contractor will install a modular office
complex with utilities, install a decontamination shower, apply
fireproofing to structural steel in receiving bay, fabricate and
install two crash gates, weld existing storage tubes to the CSB
structure, provide and install a tube exchange fixture and tube/plug
station, and perform other related miscellaneous construction.
Applicable SIC's: 1542, 1711, 1731, 1771, 3088, 3431, 5039 A lump sum
fixed price contract is contemplated in the estimated range of
$3-4,000,000 with a period of performance of 150 days commencing in
early October 1999. The work is in a controlled access area located in
the 200 East Area of the Department of Energy Hanford site that is
approximately 48 kilometers Northwest of Richland, Washington. A site
tour at the RFP designated time/date and place is mandatory in order to
bid this Work. The successful Offeror (General Contractor) shall meet
all Quality Assurance Program (QAP) requirements under the authority of
the Price Anderson Amendments Act of 1988. Contractor must have a
current viable and operational Quality Assurance Program developed from
the U.S. Department of Energy Nuclear Safety Management Regulation 10
CFR 830.120 or from other National standards such as ASME NQA-1, 10
CFR50, 10 CFR72, IS0 9000, ASQ E4. Before an award is made, the
Contractor shall be audited to these standards. In this audit the
Contractor shall demonstrate his knowledge of the requirements through
past applications and Plans. We request ONLY those Contractors who
meet these stringent requirements submit an Expression of Interest
letter. Expression of Interest Interested Offerors who can meet all of
the qualification criteria cited above are to submit an Expression of
