Notice of intent to make a non competitive purchase of services to 1) provide on-call user software support/maintenance for Target Acquisition Weather Software (TAWS) and Night Vision Goggle Operations Software (NOWS), and 2) to participate in the development of a training course for use of subject software. This anticipated purchase is under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 10 USC 2304(c)(1). The Government intends to award a sole source contract to TASC, 55 Walkers Brook Drive, Reading, MA 01867 under a FAR Part 12 -- Commercial Item Acquisition NLT 7AUG99 to provide the required services NLT 31DEC99. Performance constraints include current knowledge of the TAWS and NOWS software and the expertise of the to replace any existing operational software which is not Y2K compliant within the stated timeframe. Additionally, the contractor must have in place a logistics infrastructure (e.g. maintenance and training) to support said purchase.
