Furnish all labor, material and equipment necessary to remove the existing hot water heaters and storage tanks and install new domestic hot water boilers and storage tanks and perform miscellaneous associated work at the Building 215 Barracks Building at the U.S. Coast Guard Ft. Wadsworth Facility in Staten Island, NY. This Request for Quotations is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both large and small business participation. It is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000. The applicable SIC Code is 1711. The tentative date for receipt of quotes is 9 September 1999. A one-time group site visit is tentatively scheduled for 2 September 1999 at 1 PM. Further details will be contained in the RFQ. Bid packages will be available on or about 16 August 1999 at a non-refundable charge of $19. For minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises: the Department of Transportation (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT bonding assistance program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
