The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Patuxent River, Maryland intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under an approved Justification and Authorization IAW FAR 6.302-1 with Raytheon Systems Company (RSC), Electronics and Sensors Division, Goleta, CA for award of a Firm Fixed Price base year contract for the Full Rate Production Lot 2 with two (2) one (1) year Firm Fixed Priced Options for Production Lots 3 and 4. The maximum order under the basic is for approximately seventy systems. Option 1 will be for up to one hundred-ten systems and Option 2 will be for up to one hundred twenty systems. In addition to supplying hardware, RSC will provide integrated logistics, spares and associated data. RSC is the original developer, manufacturer and only known producer of the ALR-67(V)3 Advanced Radar Warning Receiver System for the F/A-18C/D/E/F. It is designed to enhance pilot situational awareness by providing accurate identification, lethality and azimuth displays of hostile and friendly emitters and also controls the electronic warfare (EW) data bus and interfaces with EW systems, the onboard radar, airborne mission computer, and F/A-18 weapons systems. The (V)3 Countermeasures Receiving Sets Full Rate Production Lots 2, 3 and 4 will be procured for installation into the Navy F/A-18 aircraft. An RFP will be requested from RSC on or about September 1999 with an estimated award date of June 2000.
