dwood@natick-amed02.army.mil. The U.S. Army SBCCOM/PM-SOLDIER SUPPORT
is conducting a market survey for a commercial conveyor system. We are
seeking sources, technical information, and approximate costing for
the system. The system will enhance the ability of soldiers to unload
cargoes from Army standard and/or commercial 8'x8'x20' insulated ISO
refrigeration containers, and must adapt to fit into non-standard
commercial refrigerated vans as well. The conveyor must be able to
interface or connect with said container while it is mounted on a
trailer or prime mover in a manner that allows cargoes to be unloaded
without the use of stairs. In total it must be one hundred feet long
and at least eighteen inches wide with lightweight modular sections of
six, eight, or ten feet. The system must not interfere with the
placement of refrigeration components, must comply with industry and
government safety and health hazard standards, and must be able to be
sanitized of all fluid-borne pathogens. The assembly or disassembly of
the conveyor system by two soldiers must take no longer than thirty
minutes. It must be operable, transportable, and storable in all
climatic environments with minimal maintenance and little or no need
for special training and/or tools. All transport and storage packaging
must meet requirements for international shipment by ground, air, and
sea. All interested firms, regardless of size are encouraged to
respond to this request for information. Responses may be sent via
e-mail to dwood@natick-amed02.army.mil or via regular mail to U.S. Army
