The U.S. Department of Commerce intends to contract for the purchase of a used flow cytometer, EPICS Elite EPS unit (SN: 6605079), equipped with the Enterprise II laser, from Beckman Coulter, Inc., out of Miami, Florida. The intended procurement is for supplies for which the Government intends to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 USC253(c)(1). The unit is less than 3 years old and is available from a trade in. The used instrument will be factory inspected, factory shipped and installed onsite. It is guaranteed and will carry a comprehensive service plan for the instrument and its lasers. The unit will be purchased for the National Ocean Service in Beaufort, North Carolina. The Government knows of only one source able to provide the used item identified. This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this time. The Government reserves the right to solicit bids based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue an order to Beckman Coulter, Inc., whichever is determined to be more advantageous to the Government without further notice. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within 15 calendar days of its publication.
